Summer Fun Starts Here!

Summer Reading is about reducing summer slide and keeping your brain active and engaged. To inspire your success, the Kings Mountain Kiwanis Club is issuing a reading challenge to all participating children. The Kiwanis Club will donate $1000 to the library for children's materials if boys and girls can earn 1000 Reading Bucks by July 24.

How to Participate
  • Visit the library to sign up.
  • Each week, log reading/brain activity for five out of seven days
  • First session: June 10 to 30 (children 12 and under, bring your log to the library by July 6 and receive a free book)
  • Second session: July 8 to 28 (children 12 and under, bring your log to the library by July 6 and receive a free book)
  • Return all completed logs for prize drawing entry by August 3
  • Winners will be announced by August 10
Prizes
Adults:
  • Four tickets to the Biltmore House ($200 value) courtesy of the Friends of the Library
  • Family Membership to the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden
Teens:
  • Four tickets to Carowinds ($200 value) courtesy of the Friends of the Library
  • Four tickets to the Kings Mountain Revolutionary Ghost Tour
Children Ages 0-12:
  • 6 Month Family Membership to Kings Mountain YMCA ($330 value) courtesy of the YMCA
  • Family Membership to Discovery Place ($200 value)
