Shearra has been a dedicated and involved member of the Kings Mountain community for over three decades. She and her husband, Tim, moved here after her family purchased Bridges Hardware and the town welcomed them with open arms.
In her professional capacity, Shearra serves as the Executive Director of the Cleveland County Arts Council, where she champions the arts and fosters local cultural enrichment. Her commitment to education and community development is evident through her roles on the Kings Mountain and Cleveland County Boards of Education, as well as her involvement with the Cleveland County Schools Education Foundation. Additionally, Shearra contributes her time to the Neal Senior Center and Friends of the Library. She is a member of Central Methodist Church and the Rotary Club.
Family plays a central role in Shearra's life. She and Tim are proud parents of two daughters, Rebekah and Kathlene, who are both educators in Cleveland County Schools and graduates of Kings Mountain High School. Their family also includes Rebekah's husband Ben in Kings Mountain, and Kathlene's husband Charlie and their son Cash in Cherryville.
Shearra received a BS Degree from Meredith College and a BA from UNC-Charlotte.
In her free time Shearra enjoys working in her backyard, taking pictures of her cats and spending time with her new grandbaby (and the rest of her family).
